No argument - however, there is a point at which the speed you may be going is so much faster than traffic that it is impossible to get out of the way.

Alternatively, you COULD try to stay at a safe and sane speed for conditions...just a thought.

p.s. - using the video of some ignorant rap "artist" bragging about doing triple digits while drunk as justification for your position kinda makes you look like a complete ....not hating - just pointing out the facts. How old are you? Like 12? Good lord dude.

Fortunately, Ludicris does not speak for me; but the video does seem to go along with the theme of the thread...

No love for Luda???? Maybe you like the Fresh Prince better?

BTW, 34, not 12....

I prefer to speak for myself. I find having rappers do it for me tends to leave out a lot of things I care about - such as proper grammar, coherent thoughts, complete sentences, the English language...little stuff like that.

All parties were friggin lucky... particularly the rider and the guy who called shotgun.

In June of 1991, Dennis dominguez wasn't so lucky...
His bike rear-ended a Toyota Forerunner on Westpark in front of Bubba's Ice house.

The bike was doing approx 80mph on impact...the fork casings exploded.
The rear of the toyota was lifted off the ground.
The rear case on the axle was cracked.

Dennis lived for approx 30-45 seconds after the impact, 50-80 past the front of the Toyota, after striking 2 parked motorcycles in the lot/driveway.

One of the 4 people in the toyota was a late term pregnant woman.
There were over 50 people that witnessed the accident. 50 people impacted, affected by the actions of 1 idiot.

I suggest, let the guy vent...grow the up and let him get it out and try to really understand the potential impact of riding like an asshat or a dipshit rather than giving him over it or trying to turn it into a joke.

Looking through this thread, a large # giving Op...aren't but a bunch of scrubs with shyte for seat time/experience that are flappin lips when they should be taking notes.

These types of threads and battles over speeding are timeless, and they will continue I'm sure. Just remember two points.

1. People are going to do what they want. I know why people do this stuff, I've felt that rush before myself. Some people just constantly live on the edge.

2. Other people have lost someone on a bike, or have seen someone die on a ride. They are forever scarred and will not condone certain types of riding. They have families that are on the street and wish to keep them safe as well.

Once you take a look at both, you can see the two very different sides. We all love bikes and what they're capable of, or we wouldn't be here.

If you rant about people speeding or doing "anything bad", you're prob gonna get flamed.
However, if you defend/participate in these things, expect to get flamed from people that don't believe that's right either.

It works both ways.
Senator... I have much respect for you.. some one will always get in an argument even if its just to troll..

I see how this board can always swing one way or another.....

One thing I have learned so far about riding is that people will always have opinions.. no matter what they believe to be true to themselves, or their friends (culture), doesnt necessarily make it right or wrong. You can even take it all the way as to say this law or that law is right..(arn't traffic laws a bit out dated?) the people change it and the people write it. ... but the cops enforce it (if they choose too...)

So I second your comment above and am glad that there are no hard feelings when someone
  • rants
  • hazes
  • makes fun of
  • talks to
  • argues about track vs street....
  • this gixter or that yamahay...
  • His fault or their fault..
  • my bike is faster..
  • mine is more comfortable...
  • do this and this will happen.. .
  • jokes about freeing the Penguins..(I only used FTP once when I was making reference to Morvigil... I thought he was banned for that).

Senator Your right when you say people are gonna do what they wanna do no mater what. I just have to say how funny and entertaining most of this is. I apologize if I ever blew any of you in your cage... no harm meant, and please see the P.R.E.C.U.M. committee for review of use of the BanHammer!!

oh and for those Asians on the board...

This is NOT a racetrack. You are giving the rest of us a bad name. You are putting many innocent people at risk, not to mention your own foolish selves.

I own 2 fast cars, and 2 fast bikes. When given the opportunity, on an open stretch of road, I've been known to open them up, no doubt. BUT NOT WEAVING THROUGH DENSE TRAFFIC LIKE A BUNCH OF IDIOTS! If one car chooses to change lanes--and they can't see you coming up from behind, trust me (I'm observant, and I didn't see you!), you're toast!

You are hurting our cause--and making us sportbikers out to appear as neanderthal hooligans. KNOCK IT OFF, TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!

Greg
Could have been my group. Maybe, maybe not...

I didn't know my bike could hit those speeds though!

Also I ride alone. Like a wolf. A lone ranger wolf. A lone ranger werewolf!

But it could have been me. I'd like to apologize. Now be happy!

So If I want to ride at high speeds and unsafely I should go to the track?
Why does everyone feel we are all responsible for upholding a good image for all motorcyclist. If people judge all riders based on how I ride how is that MY problem?
