Yesterday about 987875675 people almost killed me on my way home from school.

I'm going to start posting (ranting) every time someone almost kills me on my bike... taking this forum over one thread at a time!

You can only rant if they pass you at speeds over 140mph

this thread has some comical posts...so why not add one more...
I do not know the OP and do not know if this is a fairytale or not..
I do not know if he is a fairy or a tail.. but...some of the things that have been attributed to his actions, he did not say... and a few other things to consider...
The speed limit in the fast lane is no higher than any of the other lanes on the freeway... I do not advocate driving in the fast lane... but then again the op never said he was in the fast lane... Renzo said that...(wonder how Renzo knew that)
The OP said he was doing 75 and depending on exactly where he was, he was doing anywhere from 5 to 15 over the limit.. so if he was in the fast lane as RENZO said, he was moving along, not slowing folks down, and he could have been in the process of passing a slower line of traffic, we don't know because he did not say...
next the OP was criticized for coming on here and saying that the ones who did that were members here... he never said they were memebers here... but lets say he had, why would one even think that...I know he has not posted much but some folks are lurkers, they read but do not post much...imagine reading some of the threads over time...
we have folks get on here all the time and talk about the stupid they did... we have this same style thread over and over...
and it turns out that the time frame and location of the incident happens to fit right in to a time that guys who come from a regularly scheduled meet and ride would be in that area... and we have had folks from that very ride post stupid they did on that ride... so it would make sense that those folks could be participants on this forum...
in fact I bet they were and i bet at least one of them has posted in this thread...
as to the RIP comment... if you do not believe in , and do not believe folks have a soul, and do not believe in an after life why would you say Rest In Peace... and if some one went out being a fool endangering others why would they deserve peace?

just some thoughts on some things I have read in this thread so far...

It's not the FAST lane, it's the PASSING lane. If you're not passing someone, stay out of it; no matter how fast you are going.

who are you kidding... have you driven the Houston freeways...
yes open highway the left lane is a passing lane and you should not drive in it except to pass.... and if you paid any attention I said that I do not advocate driving in the left lane and if you read what the op posted he never said what lane he was in... Renzo is the one who said he was in what Renzo called the fast lane... so while what you said may have some merit in your mind, it is of no relevance to this thread...

My comment wasn't directed at you specifically. The misnomer 'fast lane' has been used several times in this thread. Every time I hear that term I immediately think of the idiot hanging out in the left lane with a line of cars stacked up behind him exclaiming "but I am going fast!" Fast is a subjective term, passing can be objectively defined. And yes, I've driven on the Houston freeways; that's exactly why improper usage of the left lane me off so much.

Which is the same as a 3000lb car going 25 mph faster than me (100). But if you're rear-ended by another car at a speed difference of 25mph the impact is dangerous, but probably not lethal. It depends on where the cars go next to determine lethality (off a bridge or something). The impact alone wouldn't pose a serious risk to most drivers. For the biker it's like hitting a stationary object while going 55. That seems really bad.

I'm still looking, since this topic kinda intrigues me now. I'm not finding any google pages where a motorcyclist killed a cager. If anyone knows any off-hand, please chime in. Curious....
you could look at it that way. i was looking at it from a "for some reason i'm stopped or darn near stopped and there is a compact car going 60mph or a bike coming at me at 130mph" perpsective. or lets say back road and a speeder blows thru an intersection/driveway as someone is entering the road.

of course motorcycle riders will get injured more because they dont have cages with crumple zones

also has a calibrated dyno. good for oilchanges and air filter changes
