Kill the front page and leave forums?

Ive been thinking about killing the front page and just having one FORUMS page with added stuff on it, that way theres no need for 2 pages..... opinions?

What do you consider to be the front page? When I hit the site, i always end up at /forums. I'm a lil corn-fused.

I kind of like the front page, most recent threads and posts are quickly viewed.

When I get home I then go through the forum section, I guess it makes it easier to browse, for me anyways.

I voted to change it, but now that I think of it, I agree with Dr Gonzo. Any way to change it?

IMO, looking at the "front page" is like drinking non-alcoholic beer, filling but no substance.
If that's the case, why bother having "Forums"?
Just have a ticker tape of the top 10 or 15 topics and let the rest dissolve into oblivion.
I'd rather go to the specific forums and look through the ones that interest me.

As always, my 2 cents, YMMV.

Reason Im asking, it was brought to my attention (and Ihad wondered about it also), that alot of new people might log on to MH and not know what is going on, or how to use it, etc....

On a side not, in the begining I had the bad habit of only viewing a few sections, ie: stunters, racers and for sale. The front page exposes more sections were I will remember a post that I saw earlier in the day and look for it later. I never realized how many threads I missed.

I have to admit, when it changed a week or two ago, I didn't know how to get to the actual forums. I eventually figured out that 'Forums home' took me to it. yeah, I felt pretty dumb.:eh:

Something changed on mine. There used to be a 'forums' link near the top left of the main page that took me to the actual forums. Now it's gone, and the only ay to get to it is the 'Forums Home' buttom in the grey header under the banner.
