Sad to admit this, but the first thought to cross my mind was did his buddies leave him or even know he went down?

Very unfortunate. I went by there this morning and saw the activity where they were working the scene with a dive team and tow truck, etc. It happened where the bayou goes under memorial and the embankment slopes down. Not really any significant curve or anything right there so something strange must have happened to cause him to go off the road. RIP

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are investigating an apparent traffic accident after a body was discovered in Buffalo Bayou.
Police say it appears a motorcycle rider was traveling east on Memorial Drive at a very high rate of speed when he lost control. The motorcycle flew over the curb, hitting the ground once before striking a tree. The vehicle broke into pieces, with some continuing airborne into the bayou.

A boat crew cleaning the bayou discovered the victim in the water around the 2400 block of Memorial Drive near Sawyer at about 10am. It is believed the accident occurred sometime shortly after the victim left his home around midnight.

The 31-year-old victim's identity has not been released.

sad situation for all... Control your machine and live to ride another day.

I haven't been on Memorial Drive for over a year, is it still rough and have wide cracks in the road?

Yes, I live off Memorial/Waugh. I always cringe when some guys say they are going to run a Memorial/Allen Pkwy "route"....so so dangerous.
