...a paragraph from the article...

Quote:
The man, whose name has not been released, was likely traveling eastbound in the 2400 block of Memorial Drive when he apparently lost control of the motorcycle, hit a curb, went airborne and slammed into a tree, police said.

Pieces of the motorcycle were scattered on the bank of the bayou near the where the wreck occurred. A disc brake was embedded in the tree trunk about eight feet off the ground.

Something had to be said for the rider, so I joined the chron to comment. Really tired of wild assumptions ruling the way people think.

HOUSTON The body of a motorcycle rider still wearing his helmet was found in Buffalo Bayou Wednesday morning.
Pieces of his motorcycle were also pulled out of the water just west of downtown Houston.
The man was heading east on Memorial when he lost control, went airborne and slammed into a tree. Investigators believe he was speeding because he hit the tree at 12 feet in the air.The motorcycle broke apart before landing in the water.
A Parks and Wildlife crew picking up trash along the bayou saw the body around 9:30 a.m. and called police.
The victim has not been identified.
