Greetings from Shelly

Hello,

My name is Shelly and I am very close to purchasing my first motorcycle.

I am signing up for a BRC in February. I will purchase right after that.
I need all the help I can get.

Best Place to get my BRC?
Best 1st Motorcycle for Female?

I have experience on motorcycles (1990 Harley-she left me scarred) but never owned one.

I use to drag race an “American car” “outside of the law” in a “small Texas town.” ---For legal reasons that is all I can say about that.....

I am mentioning the above to let it be known that I am not the type of female who would rather be “cheeks to the sissy bar.” (Not that there is anything wrong with that)

I crave untamed dominance on the road.

Regards,
Shelly

Welcome!

Motorcycles Unlimited had a nice Buell Blast for sale for a good price last time I was up there.

If you're on the shorter side, that'd be a great first bike.

You'll fit in perfectly around here.

SV650, Ninja 650r, GS500 all good first bikes, especially if you already want to go fast - these are a little more forgiving than an inline four on throttle control, but will have plenty of power to get you the feeling you want - more power than a 250, since you have a little experience.

Awesome Cycles is BY FAR the very best BRC. They offer an MH discount, and come very highly recommended.

Buy used. That way, when you drop it you won't be as sad as that first scratch on the brand new bike. Plus, unless you're paying cash, you'll be raped at the stealership. Used motorcycles maintain their value quite nicely, and you shouldn't have trouble selling it when you're ready to move up.

Pics? Bewbs? link to your photobucket?

And this is good advice. Perhaps with a couple pics we can better assess what style/size bike may provide better ergonomics to give you the best riding experience.

Squoddy you might want to mention you are a relatively hetero female so she won't think poorly of us guys. Not that we won't leghump when we get the chance, just that we were behaving up until then.

Oh and welcome Shelly!

Welcome! Don't worry, there are a lot of other females here on this forum. And like Squoddy, you should get bikes in the 500cc to 600cc range since you had little experience.
