This has to be BS. No way in !!!!!

While reading another forum I ran across the follwing post:

My buddy in Virginia finally got his court date. They moved it on him a couple of times.

$1500 for a wheelie. Oh.. and yeah, 365 days jail time. Not suspended. He's also active duty Navy so this will also mean a dishonorable discharge.

He has a few other stunting tickets on his record and currently has a 45 days suspended sentence from earlier this year, but ... one year for one wheel.

He goes back to court on Dec 14th for an appeal... pray for him.

There is no way in someone got a year in jail for doing a wheelie!!!! $1500fine maybe. License suspended maybe. Even with prior tickets for the same thing. I just can't see it.

Maybe I'm just a skeptic

This does not surprise me. This is called habitual offender. In TX, you probably get the same thing or more.

^ Exactly.
The law, and society in general have had it with the foolishness they've been seeing.
Every time someone runs, they put their lives, as well as the lives of innocents in jeapordy.
They've finally had enough and are now treating people who run, and even some of us who don't, like hardened criminals.

I know that some of you will disagree but; Let's face it, if you do run, you are breaking the law, period.
In the eyes of the police you're no different than a crack dealer. I know it's not the same, but it's just the way it is, and it's only going to get worse, not better.

My 2 cents.

Note to self, in TX if you commit and find guilty of 3 counts of anything under the same offense, they will label you as habitual. For example, 3 cases of class a or b misdemeanor, you could also catch a felony for habitual. Felony minimum is 2-10 years in Prison. If you have 3 felony of the same offense, you could get a small (habitual) 5-25yrs, a big is 25 to life. Texas has the toughest law in the nation hence the moto "Don't mess with Texas". Makes you sleep better at night now, huh?

too bad it still takes three times with a class a or b misdemanor. last year i was shot while driving by some punk kids with an air soft automatic causing me to almost lose control of my car after calling the cops and following them for 5 miles (i was in my firebird and they were trying to get away in a stock Civic) i was told they were going to be arrested on aggravated assault and their car impounded but it turns out they were arreseted that night for assault and given a $100 bail which their parents paid and after 6 months i got a letter in the mail from the city of waco stating that they had been found guilty of assault and given 1 year probation and 20 hours community service.

First time offenders plus being a minor. District Attorneys don't play games, they will stick you with the stiffest stick up your wazzoo.

Edit: unless you have money to lube your wazzoo so it won't hurt so much.
