yes really.... I have fender elim kits on every bike I've owned.... but had the license plate in a reasonable (close to factory) position. there is no law regarding fenders... the law they get you on in license plate location.

btw.... I'm not saying cops won't pull you over for no reason.... cause they will. but I'm saying, the less reasons you potentially give a cop, the least likely you'll get pulled.

gotcha. but it is really 2 different things. there have been the random cop in years past that have tried to nail for modified fenders.... but they didn't get very far.

That area just really has a bad rep for harassing riders, but there are a lot of crashes and idiotic squids riding out there making it harder for the rest of us. Tough break on the warrant-seems like those guys have been in the news a lot lately too. DPS pulled and ticketed a friend of mine for no reflectors on his plate....

yup. i always used the led license plates studs to provide light and put the little reflectors on the bottom 2 holes on the plate

surely take you up on that.. we weren't speeding (he only gave me a warning on it), we were riding slow thru the area, i was in the rear so he could seem me and my plate it's not where you can't see it.. ive checked numerous times.. his was visible but couldn't see the inspection... he had a car pulled over way down the opposite road and all we could see was his lights.. as soon as the light changed we turned and headed down the road and bam.. lights.. they were out everywhere pulling everyone over last night... just any reason he could give was the excuse... i ended up with a ticket for inspection being out... but it turned a nice ride into a very eventful night.. needless to say

Completely agree...not that big of a deal where the plate is located with stock fender, rather than giving the police an excuse to pull you over or get a silly ticket...

...I've thought about it a lot today and come to the conclusion that the cop just wanted to check the situation...and he got him an outstanding Warrant bust and helped the local tow company with another haul. The moment was fuŠked up, but at least I got the legal sh't cleared with just a book-in/book-out few hours in county.....and the cops main b'tch when he stepped out of his car "I'm really having a hard time seeing those license plates on those bikes!" Which are dealership installed eliminator kits with easily viewed plates. My opinion: two loud red sport bikes, late at night with no traffic. I've owned and ridden a few HD's and have never attracted the attention from law enforcement like I do when I'm on the duck. If your on a sport bike and think for a minute that your not gonna get a lil closer look at your legal participation (especially from State Troopers) then your either a douche or just that stupid. I'm not complaining, I love the ride...but come on what's to debate about....nobody in a badge takes a second look when a mo-ped passes!

Do what I do, Ride with a Harley through Montgomery then break off.

I usually don't have that problem with the Police up in Montgomery but then again from a distance it doesn't look like I'm on any kind of sport's bike.. Until I pass by and the cops hear me that is.
