Ferry is free. Parking is free. Open to public. Wait depends on traffic - only long during heavy traffic times.

Enjoy. There are usually porpoises that follow along.

It's okay. I knew what you meant. I figured I would leave the judging to others.

Oh, oh no. I am not talking about Galveston ferry. I am interested on that little at San Jacinto park, near battleship Texas.

The Galveston ferry is cool. In fact I was there yesterday with family in the cage.

Lynchburg Ferry?

LYNCH'S FERRY

A pioneer ferry of Texas under Mexico and the Republic, established at the confluence of Buffalo Bayou and the San Jacinto River, 1822, by Nathanial Lynch, one of Stephen F. Austin's "Old Three Hundred Colonists". Usual charges at ferries like this were man and horse, 25 cents, cattle 4 cents a head, but rates could be raised for risky high-water service.

Lynch, from Missouri, was an active Texas merchant and judge. After a small settlement grew up near the ferry, he platted the town of "Lynchburg" about 1835, but few shared his enthusiasm for the spot.

In March and April, 1836, as Texan settlers flet the Mexican Army during the War for Independence, hundreds cross the San Jacinto at Lynch's ferry. By April 2, the prairie was covered with wagons, horses, mules, tents, and baggage, but 19 days later at the Battle of San Jacinto, the Mexican General Santa Anna, hoping to cut off a Texan retreat at the ferry, was himslef defeated near the site.

In later years, Lynchburg became a steamboat stop for the picturesque stern-wheelers plying Buffalo Bayo as eastbound freight was transferred there.

Today the modern motor-driven Lynchburg ferry is operated at the site of the original ferry.

Since 1888, Harris County has operated the Lynchburg Ferry Service. There is no charge for the ferries’ 16 hrs. 7 days a week service.

You have no idea. I have to write my honors thesis this semester, too. I have to turn in the bio Friday... oops.

But, in my defense, I was hanging cabinet doors all weekend. I'm SO glad my kitchen is finished, but now I have to actually do school work. I think I'd rather go back to the carpentry. Especially when I'm writing a bio - about me. That's the hardest thing in the world to write.

lol
know exactly what you talking about Best thing to do is just get it done and out of your way.
But its soo hard sometimes I was literally procrastinating to such a last moment that I had to wake up at the middle of the night and try to completer the task, because of the deadline next morning
