How do you clean your bike?

Might be a dumb question but...

How do you do it?

What do you use?

On fairings?

Rims?

Chrome?

How do you make your bike shiny!?

I have never washed my bike.

I clean the chain with chain cleaner, then lube it. That's pretty much the extent of cleaning my bike.

I hand wash & dry my bike. Then I use this product called FW1 to polish/wax it. It's a "Cleaning Wax". It actually removes the smeared of rubber that collect on the sides of the undertail real well. It works well in polishing the tank, frame, rims & plastics.
It leaves a smooth wax like film (it has Carnauba in it) that lets me wipe dust and dirt that get on the plastics for up to a couple weeks, as long as I don't ride it in the rain.

The two times I've washed my bike in the two years that I've had it I used Turtle Wax Ice soap and it looked nice after washing.

I use a hose with any car wash soap. Hand dry, and let it run for a few minuets after to warm up the engine. Once a month I will wax it with a car wax. I tend to avoid spraying water on the insturment cluster.

I don't even use water unless it's muddy.

I use WD-40 on everything that's not plastic. It get's the dirt and grime off very quickly, and leaves a great shine that'll actually look good up to two weeks if it doesn't rain.

For the plastic I use PLEXUS, which you can get at CG.

now, now... NewRider started this thread... it can't be... it's like the matrix.. dejavu, they changed something..
NewRider never cleans his bike!

I use Meguiar's Ultimate wash & wax.. smells good, you can see the difference!

meguiars ultimate wash and wax

nothing beats it... rinse it off, soft water, no need to power wash or use a pressure hose, whatever you wanna call it.
then hand dry it, and use Mothers wax.. if any scrachtes.. but not necessary to, so never used it.
