How do you charge the battery?

Hey y'all, I just got back from vacation and my battery is completely dead.
What's a safe way to charge it? I heard jumping it with a car or a car charger might damage the ECU, is that true?
Should I take the battery out and charge it? Or can I just call Progressive and have them charge it with a car jumping charger (it's free)?
thanks!

Charge it with a trickle charger . If you don't have one bring the battery by and I'll do it for you for free.

I yell at the bettery until it goes into a submission charge. You have to use your outdoor voice, though. Let it know who's boss.
