From what I hear parts availability isn't as bad as you think, you just have to know where to look. A guy I know living in China right now has 2, he makes it sound like they're all over the place there. It's just a WWII-era-BMW clone.

5 years old unless seated in a sidecar. See Texas Transportation Code 545.416:

"Sec. 545.416. RIDING ON MOTORCYCLE. (a) An operator of a motorcycle shall ride on the permanent and regular seat attached to the motorcycle.

(b) An operator may not carry another person on the motorcycle, and a person who is not operating the motorcycle may not ride on the motorcycle, unless the motorcycle is designed to carry more than one person.

(c) If the motorcycle is designed to carry more than one person, a passenger may ride only on the permanent and regular seat, if designed for two persons, or on another seat firmly attached to the motorcycle behind or to the side of the operator.

(d) Except as provided by Subsection (e), an operator may not carry another person on a motorcycle unless the other person is at least five years of age. An offense under this subsection is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $100 or more than $200. It is a defense to prosecution under this subsection that the operator was operating the motorcycle in an emergency or for a law enforcement purpose.

(e) Subsection (d) does not prohibit an operator from carrying on a motorcycle a person younger than five years of age who is seated in a sidecar attached to the motorcycle."

First off, it's not a 66, it's a modern clone of an only WW2 BMW flathead. Secondly, expect to overhaul it regularly and soon and do not take the side car off and expect to ride normally. Their suspension is unstable for solo rides.

Chiang Jiang is not made by bmw. The guy is wrong. It is a chinese copy of the early /2 BMW bikes from the 30s. Parts are near impossible to find for the motor/tranny if you have any internal damage to it. The rest you can use regular BMW parts that are sometimes easy to find. As already stated you have to maintain the bike, it takes a lot of tinkering. Oh and using the BMW parts is pricey. I've worked on CJ's and old airheads, they take a lot of work and there is only one way to do it, the german way, the way it came for the most part.
