I think they read/follow the listings and try to "reap the benefits" before anyone is aware, IMO thats why they didnt have keys and went to the rear (hidden) to try and gain entry, and left before the "enforces" arrived. If they had a legitimate reason and work order, why would they threaten me then leave?
Im trying to find out if the sheriff was able to catch them down the road and the results if they did.

If this guy is legit, he should have had a requisition from the bank also he would not have had a key unless the property has been abandoned and locks changed. Doesn't sound like that is the case here. Further the bank is allowed to preserve the property if the owners are in default (it's in the Mortgage) to protect their interest.

That being said, this guy seems shady the OP did the right thing confronting him.
