Fender Eliminator

Is this illegal?
Has anyone been hassled about their license plate lately?

I was pulled over (while doing the speed limit). Officer said he couldn't see my plate and that it is supposed to be no more than three inches frrom the rear of the vehicle. I'm looking into it, but I wanted to ask the experts first.

The plate must be at least 18" above the ground, be centrally located and mounted horizontally. The plate must be rigidly mounted and clearly visible from any angle behind the motorcycle. This means that plates mounted forward of the rear wheel, or on either side of the motorcycle, are in violation of the law. And, if a plate is mounted on a pivoting hanger it is also in violation of this vehicle code. The first time violation of this code is a fine of $1,141.00. The second infraction costs $2,500.00, the third costs $5,000 and loss of motorcycle license endorsement for 10 years.

Common sense would tell you that plate will get you pulled over. Technically illegal or not.
Being visible is kinda the point of a plate.

I got pulled over on the Beltway, the officer didn't find anything wrong with where my plate was mounted or where the inspection sticker was(on the swingarm).

Plates are for Sissies! I got pulled over for no plate, so then I smacked the cop in the mouth and told him to go make me a sammich. Then when he didnt have enough ham on it I made him dance around and oink like a piggy. Then I burned out and threw rocks on him and his car. After that I did 10 minute laps of 610. All on my Shadow.

My son had a 2007 GSXR600 with the same set up as is the first pic.... He was pulled over by Pearland finest moto cops. Was written a ticket and we took pics from5-10-15-20-25-30-40-50 feet. Took them into the court room and plead not guilty. Spoke to the DA and it was dropped 2 days later. She reviewed them with the officer and called and said everything was ok. I still have the messege on the phone where she explained it should have never been written up.
