My courier bag doesn't work so well on the motorcycle.

It bothers my shoulder since i sit more upright on my motorcycle than my bicycle. Well, it bothers when it's heavy... and that's the only reason I have to carry anything more than a sinch opening stuff sack. Kinda surprised me, cause i've worn it for hours and hours on the bicycle comfortably while loaded down.
Also, the buckle on the front of mine, as well as the cell phone holster, hit the tank if I try to lean down.

Doesn't help that the buckle is a seatbelt and would scratch the tank...

It works great. I used to use a backpack. Tried a regular one and the Icon Squad II. I hated teh Icon. It was impossible to get off/on and a general POS. I bet it looked good on paper but real life not so much.

Backpacks are cumbersom to get on/off with your lid on. So getting your walllet for gasoline etc is a pain.

MUCH better with the courier bag.

The other nice thing is I can get into the bag while I am still on the bike, and with only one hand (think CHL).

Oh, and I don't let it hang to the side, I push it up on the seat behind me and forget it is even attached to me.

It's a winner.

The Aerostitch is a nice one, made in the USA/ Keeps my stuff dry even in the rain (material is lined with some rubber like membrain) no metal parts. Holds JUST the right amount of stuff for me.

Good point... the getting it on and off was great... whether just slinging it around, or undoing the buckle.
Though trying to see into it with it still strapped on and a fullface helmet was impossible. But I always wore mine pretty tight so it didn't flap around and couldn't move around if i had to make sudden moves.

That's the one concern I have with a courier bag, especially when loaded down. I'd be afraid it might slide out when I take a turn too fast. Backpacks are a pain, but the ones I have (non-bike specific ones) lets me comfortably carry a good size laptop and, once cinched down and with the lower strap buckled across my front torso, almost becomes a back protector of sort.

Still, I'd rather not carry one on me if I don't have to.

Well, I have the second stabilizer strap on my courier bag, so it's not going anywhere. On my bicycle, I've done races, bunny hopped around, evasive maneuvers... and it never goes anywhere. If it were loose enough to sit on my back seat, that would be too loose for me. Though, it would sit on my current tailbag.

Rode in today. Not too bad I thought, but I was bundled up pretty good. I got a mountain of clothes on the floor I took off once I got to work.

Didn't know they come with a second strap. Good deal.

You mean your other left. BTW, what's with the two 650's? Looks like they are getting it on!

Anyhow, rode in on the Viffer for the first time. That V4 is a smooth operator. Miss the motorized windscreen on the C14 though. Time to look at a double bubble or laminar lip. Luggage rack hasn't arrived yet, so backpacked it. Ughhh... Them clamshells do spoil me.

I was out to buy another gun today (got a Sigma 9mm for $299) so caged it.

Plus it was freezing.

Not mine, but my strap is very similar to this... plastic buckle for quick removal at strap side. Attach at the bottom corner of the bag.. some permanent, some with a keychain type clip. I've also seen a few with a 3rd strap that would complete the "X" on your chest. I guess that'd be nice to have a sling bag at times, but strapped for heavy loads at other times.

uh... yeah... my 2nd left leg. oops. But yeah, mounting from the right side IS even harder

The comments on that pic have been either they are getting it on, or getting ready to brawl. It's my girl's bike.

34 degrees when I left the house. No base layers. Just a one-piece rain suit over my normal riding gear. I did turn the grip heaters on, though. Very pleasant ride in, and this weather definitely has its advantages. Only two other bikes in the motorcycle parking at my building. In nice weather, that sh*t gets crowded.

Duane, thanks for the pics. Now I see how it goes. Looks pretty cool. LOL about your girl's bike.

UrbanXJ, et tu? I stopped by Academy on the way home to check out what the hoopla is all about. Wasn't that big a crowd when I was there. Academy had to put the Taurus PT-92AF on sale for $329. I've always wanted one of those, ever since I bought a PT-101P (.40) a few years ago. BTW, you don't need no cage to buy a pistol. I rode my SV yesterday.
