All I have is a perforated leather jacket (no liner).. Wind goes right through it. I really considered getting a jacket with a liner back when I bought this one but decided I couldn't possibly need it. Duuumb. Oh well, it'll be warmer soon.

Just got dry? What, from the dense fog?

Yeah, one jacket won't cut it if you ride all year long. I have three with removable liners. They're all for different temperature ranges.

Just go to Walmart and buy one of those rain suits that fits in those nearly pocket sized bags. They're $12, or close to it. All you have to do in this weather is keep the wind off of you. Wear it over your jacket, and you'll be fine. If you're still chilly, throw on a sweater under your jacket.

I'm thinking this is a very good idea, I'll be sure to do that.

Under about 48F (arbitrary, I know) I'll wear waterproof zip-on overpants, usually a hoodie under my riding jacket. If it's wet I've got a waterproof textile touring jacket I wear. Cortech waterproof gloves. Under 43F I add heated liners.

Above the 48-50 threshold, usually I'll just wear my jeans and riding jacket, with my waterproof gloves until it his about 55 or higher in the morning, then it's summer gloves.

My normal riding jacket for the last year or so has been the Roland Sands "Rocker" leather jacket. I wear it about 10 months out of the year, assuming there's not too much precipitation.

Heh. I've got some arbitrary riding temp rules, myself. Below 55 I'll wear waterproof overpants. Below 50 I'll wear a balaclava. Below 45 I put the quilted liner from my textile on first, followed by the rainproof liner from my mesh, then put on my textile. 50's and below I wear Seirus Xtreme all weather gloves.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/39541162?w...511488&veh=sem

I've ridden well into the 30's with that setup. With my one piece Bilt rain suit, I've ridden as low as 34.

before the heated liners, my lowest was 28F. Even "windproof" waterproof winter gloves were painful after about 15 min. Cold doesn't bother me too much, but I've started driving if there's much precipitation. Guess that's just me wimping out.

Well cold doesn't really increase the risk of death much and precipitation does.

Had the same issue with my Cortech Scarabs. Supposed to be awesome with the Thinsulate liner. things were useless below 50. Found the Xtremes at Academy. Zero impact or abrasion protection, but they're awesome. I lost my glove liners, so now in the low 40's and below I just turn on the grip warmers. With liners and the Xtremes I wouldn't even think about the warmers.

When it gets cold, I tend to wear thermal Under Armor or the Nike equivalent, full length shirt and compression pants. Then wear jeans over, undershirt, and button up. I have a leather jacket, but rarely ever put the liner in. The under armor works great and as long as your shoes/boots don't let all that cold are in, you are gonna be fine!
