My cheap standby... Plastic bags. Love em. Take no room in the trunk, and insulate like a in emergency situations!

You might take a look at some of the clearance riding jackets that are available right now. I've seen several waterproof adventure-style riding jackets at good prices, and I can vouch for how well they block wind (even with the vents open ) Of course, if your bike's charging system is up to the extra draw, you could always just go for a heated vest or inner jacket.

I use ski base layers from academy and my leather riding jacket. Works great.

Was quite brisk...52* the whole way...only 6.5 miles though. Considering peddling into work, don't have a bike yet though

true story. my hands are the only thing I'm having trouble keeping warm... The "winter" gloves I've got don't quite insulate wind well enough and are way too bulky. I need to figure out what to do there. otherwise, it was still a pretty nice ride this morning.

then I go to get a new one, and Aerostitch has a new NextToSkin silver treated one.

Sweet order that. Backorder. So I got two, the regular and the new NTS one.

Now if I can only find my jacket liner...
