Deal's gap... March...

I'm turning 30 in March. I will be damned if I spend my 30th in this hole... Week at deal's gap. The dates are open but WE HAVE TO BE NOT HERE ON THE 30TH..

I will be going no matter what, 225 will also most likely be going with, so I'm just seeing if anyone else can make it. Always easier to have a bunch of people going to throw in on gas and accommodations.

I have not been in touch with anyone from deal's gap resort yet. I will be contacting them on Monday when they are in to see what's available. The rates for the different rooms are here http://www.dealsgap.com/motel.htm

I just hope it's not all booked up or anything like that..

Anyone?

I've already got my room filled, so anyone else who wants to go will have to make their own reservations. I'll be calling them on Monday, I'll update the thread with room availability once I have something.

Just made my reservations for March 26 through the 31st! If anyone else wants to go they are WIDE OPEN for those dates! I got a standard room, and apparently they are $10 off the normal rate..

I'm thinking the Duke II would be perfect there. Let me see what I can do about going.

It's on my bucket list (yes, you start saying stuff like that after 40).

That would be awesome Staton! If you can swing it and you need a ride, we can figure something out. Easier to split gas between more people in one car than to take more cars.

I'm keeping an eye on weather also. March is a little early for the riding season. They mostly start getting busy mid to late April. I went in end of may last year and the weather was perfect. In march we can expect mid to high 50's during the day and low to mid 30's in the evening/early morning. That's based on the "average" though, sometimes it can be well into the 60's by March, it can also snow well into May. Let's hope for the best.

If you think you want to go, call and reserve your room now. You have up until the last 48 hours before your arrival date to cancel without a cancellation fee.

If you're interested and want some more information, you can find a bunch of info here http://www.tailofthedragon.com/

It says there is a maximum of four people per room, but there is one big bed and a bunk bed.. I have James (225) in my room, and it's sounding like one of the locals is bunking with us. If you want to come I'll gladly give you a bunk and he can sleep on the floor. I'm also not 100% sure how the vehicle situation is going to work yet. So far it's sounding like me driving to louisiana, picking James up, and then taking his father in laws tundra to haul his trailer the rest of the way. I don't even think the ridgeline could pull all those bikes that far without getting any better than 4 gallons to the mile.

Very cool, with the cancellation policy, I'll check my work schedule and if nothing is obviously in the way, I'll book a room. I am going to check with Desmorider, Tankmonkey and a few others as well. I am thinking they may be up for it if they can get away.
