Do 06-07 r6 suck at charging batteries

A few weeks ago I started my off season teardown of my bike and noticed that my battery was weak and the bike wouldn't turn over. This thing already wants to be a pain with a new battery.

The bike has been sitting since maybe ~november, i went to hook it up to a battery tender last night and it gives me the blinking red stating the battery charge is too low. I just bought this battery brand new maybe 3-4 months ago. So is this battery trash ?

I found this as im typing this , so maybe im not alone.

Not sure if this helps but on my 05, after i left the lights on, I bump started it, rode for about 20 minutes and the battery was charged enough to have no problems since. this was prob sometime last september or so. Maybe a newer gen issue?

Check the plug at your regulator / rectifier.
Because of where they are located they get a lot of splash and corrode.
