title question

so i bought that wrecked r6, I have the title signed and dated. Is there anyway i can get out of paying the full tax amount? It wont be road worthy for a while, and is definately not road worthy now.

only way i know of is get a certified appraisal, which isnt a sure bet either. perhaps contact a title service company.

You can take it (trailer/truck) to Texas Power Sports (formerly Pasadena Honda) on Spencer HWY in Pasadena. They are the only ones I know of that will give you an official appraisal that will be accepted. OTHER DEALERS VALUATION APPRAISALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. I've done this in several cases and it does work. The appraisal will cost you $45, but they will give it a very low value because they account for what it will take to restore the bike back to a re-sellable condition from their shop..

Now depending on exactly how bad the bike is now - there are some tricks you can do to help lower it even more, but anyone can PM me if you're interested in knowing what they are.
