When the PSP first came out it was a 1.5 version that was released. Hackers figured out a way to put all the old school games on it. My bother has the 1.7 version and has every game on it from Mario bothers to Tecmo Bowl.

Once Sony figured out what was going on they released the 2.0 versions so prevent the hackers from putting all these old school games on it. They also put patches in games. Like if you buy "CARS" it forces you to upgrade from whatever version you're on to a 2.0 version or higher. I got a 2.0 version so I couldn't do anything with mine. In order for to be able to add the old school games it has to be below a 2.0 version.

Long story short (to late) don't worry about it. Unless you were planning on going old school with your PSP don't give it a second a thought. Just enjoy your PSP.

They also have ways to roll back the updates too on some websites out there. But I am like you, I just want to play the games I have and I am fine with that.
