Oh, I SO wanna start about this.
There's no doubt this country has one of the best care for serious illness.
But most of us don't get deadly illness in life time (at least I hope).
We get more of non emergency ie cold, flu, STOMACH PROBLEM, rash, whatever.
And what I'm saying is, we shouldn't pay THIS much (even with insurance) for simple medical care like this.

Do you really think it's fair price to pay close to $100 for stomach problem?

Sometimes it helps to talk with the pharmacist. They're fairly good about suggesting alternative meds that have been around longer and aren't on the non-prefered insurance list. I hate how dr.'s rarely seem to take into account costs. Well-crafted, piteous stories usually earn larger handfuls of sample drugs too. :icon_smil

I spoke with pharmacist before I went over to see a doctor.
She suggested me Gas X which didn't do much.

And Pepto Bismol makes me sick.
I throw up everywhere if I drink that.
Must be the color.

Nope it's called medical care greed. But definitely don't want socialist medicine. Get to you when we can if we can and if the government says ok.

It is false to think insurance pays for your medical care. You pay for it through a lower salary. If your employer did not pay for your insurance, he would pay you more, If the government paid, you would just have to pay higher taxes.

Why do you want a health care system with the compassion of the IRS, the cost controls of the Defense Department and the effectiveness of the Border Patrol?

I won't go if I don't have to.

Taking all them antibiotics all the time can't be good.

It's not, the body knows how to do most of it on it's own. People tend to freak out too quick.

Yeah, I don't think they are trained to cure, just to treat. I bet the school curriculum are funded by pharmaceutical companies who of course research treatments, not cures.

Can't help but get angry every time I see an 'ask your doctor' commercial that shows a very happy person while they read the ungawdly list of possible side effects.
