RANT!

So, I've been having this stomach pain since Sunday.
I couldn't eat anything but soup and cracker.
I finally decided to go to see a doctor.
I do have an insurance through my company, so my visit was only $25.
He ran some blood test (only lord knows how much that's gonna cost...) and gave me some samples and prescription.
I ran over to Walgreens and got my medication that came out $60.21 (before insurance, it was $82.99).
$60.21???
Come on now.
If this was Korea, I probably spent about $5-10 total, with the medication.
For simple stomach pain, I already spent close to $100 and another bill's on it's way.
What's wrong with this country????
Next time I get sick, I'm gonna wait until I feel like I'm about to die!!!

yeppers, if you have a job, medical attention and medications are free, I guess that's why many doctors in Mexico aren't stinking rich like every doctor here in the US.

My grandfather (my mother side) and My father was a doctor, too.
He was an orthopedic.
Too bad he had to die so early.

I think I'm mad because I can't eat.
I'm a type of a person who thinks about dinner while I'm eating lunch.
Ever since Sunday, all I ate was yogurt, juice, soup and cracker.
Feeling weak and always have this freakin pain in my stomach.
Now I have dizziness and headache as well.
Lost 3lbs already.
:confused1

It probably would have been $4-$8 if you got your prescriptions at Walmart.

I guess the insurance companies hate the pharmaceutical companies as much as we do. Ain't gonna pay for that over-priced name brand .

Water, sounds more like dehydration.

I drink LOTS and LOTS of water.
I probably go to bathroom every 30-40 mins.
I really can't think it was dehydration.
I would've noticed before it got this bad.

you don't want to start this up. i'd like to see someone compare and contrast the healthcare in korea or mexico versus that here in the US. esp with regards to quality of the care and facilities, availability, responsiveness of emergency services, technology available, and the skills of the healthcare providers.
