I am sure the repost police will be here soon...but anyway.

This showed up on the Duc list at ducati.net. It was killed (pun intended) pretty quickly because of differing responses about killing someone over a bike.

Killing someone has tremendous impact to so many people. My immediate response is the guy got what he deserves, and I am OK with that. I think the owner reacted as he felt threatened, and the thief put himself at that risk by stealing.

I go back and forth. I think it depends on my state of mind at the time.

My family/friends/stranger at risk? I will kill without hesitation (I hope) if needed.

Someone stealing a bike from me? I am really not sure. It is just a bike when it comes down to it and I have insurance. Hurt them and stop them? Sure, no worries there. Killing them though makes me pause.

The counterpoint is that this guy that got killed was not a good member of society, so maybe the bike's owner did us all a favor by ridding the world of this guy. I believe he did in this particular case.

Hope I don't ever find myself in a position that I need to make a choice between someone's life and my property.

Fixed. "Black" has no issue in this. The guy was a thief. Color/Race/etc has no weight here.

Good job to the shooter. The victim was a piece of . Attempted murder a few years back. In and out of jail. Just no good to society. He got what he deserved and more people need to realize that. If he didn't stop the kid now, then the kids next crime could've been murder.

A February 1997 report on rape and sexual-based crime published by the United States Department of Justice stated that of the crimes surveyed, 56% of arrestees were "White", 42% were "Black", and 2% were of other races. The report additionally noted that "[v]ictims of rape were about evenly divided between whites and blacks; in about 88% of forcible rapes, the victim and offender were of the same race."[5]

A subsequent United States Department of Justice report which surveyed homicide statistics between 1974 and 2004 stated that of the crimes surveyed, 52.1% of the offenders were Black, 45.9% were White, and 2% were Other Races. Of the victims in those same crimes, 51% were White, 46.9% were Black, and 2.1% were Other Races. The report further noted that, "most murders are intraracial", with 86% of White murders committed by Whites, and 94% of Black murders committed by Blacks.[6] It should be noted that the document does not provide any details concerning what races or ethnicities are included in the designations "White", "Black", or "Other Races".

70% of prisoners in the United States are non-Whites.[7]

A 2005 United States Department of Justice report on violent crimes stated that of the "perceived race" of the offenders in single-offender violent crimes, 43.3% were White, 21.0% were Black, and 9.6% were "Other", with the remaining 26.0% of offenders of unknown race.[8]

middle finger huh... you do realize that blacks make up 12.6% of the population vs. whites 72.4% ; yet they make up almost half of the prison population. that speaks volumes all by itself

Given his record of violence and crime someone like that is going to hurt and possibly kill again... what was the drive-by shooting over? Im willing to bet it was something really stupid like name calling... Shoot em all and let sort em out! People like him and his 2 buddys stealing a truck then using the stolen truck to steal a bike with a loaded firearm pointing it at people after already facing a previous shooting charge in court give me plenty of reason to be happy this guy shot him over his bike! I had my truck stolen (2003 Black Dodge Ram just like in the story) and If I would have seen them in the act I would have done the same. The next person to try and steal anything of mine better be wearing a vest! I have no sympathy for criminals.

Black people run, shoot at police, get shot by other criminals, or any other way of staying out of jail... where white people mostly dont involve in gang shootings, police shootings or getting shot from people defending their house or belongings. Im not saying its only blacks mexicans do this too and there are few white people who want to be "Gangsters" as well... I wish there was a "Like" button for your post witchdoctor575

the ratios speak for themselves... when you have 10 black guys in a room its a pretty good chance 8 of them will be in prison at some point... 10 white guys its a pretty good chance 8 of them will only have traffic violations and nothing more... and the percent of blacks is still higher... 52.1% of the offenders were Black, 45.9% were White
