they saw you coming. dealers like for the customer to finnace the bike with their company so they earn the sale price plus the interests. smart hustle if you ask me.

check to see what the cash advance rate is and compare it to the purchase rate. there are plenty of good used bikes out there that are under $6k that you can probaly pay cash with.

get rid of the cc. you don't need it, you'll always be paying "the man" this is how young people like yourself end up in debt when you get to be my age.. not that i'm in debt but, thats how it is. cut that up and cancel the account. do yourself a huge favor, you can thank me in 10 years..

I have the best credit ever! NO CREDIT!!!!!!

I so far have spent my whole life buying something straight cash. If I cant buy it that way, then I shouldnt be buying it.

I can see how that mentality is me over, now I have nothing to show for it

not smart. you need credit. but not to buy a bike. I thought amex you have to pay back the balance every month??

There is amex for services and amex credit. I have a very high credit in the services one but you have to pay every month, although you can get to choose to pay montlhy too, is all a trick to get your money.

If he has good relationship like he said,he can buy the bike with a credit card.

Get rid of the card, dude.

Before you know it your minimum payment will be $300.00 a month ... and you'll be paying that for the rest of your life.

No, but I have an AMEX Blue also .... so I know the deal. :icon_bigg

---------------------

If you buy a car or bike on a CC then you're paying 12% or 16% APR. You can get an auto loan at a much less rate.

Think about the long term when it comes to Credit Cards. They probably gave him an $18G limit hoping he'll run out an charge the out of it. AMEX gets a percentage from each purchase you make. They also make $$ off the interest.
