fell 12-27-2011

slick roads from construction debris near highway 6 and w. beltfort. ninja 250 slid out from under me when making a left turn. full gear saved my skin but couldnt keep my right thumb from breaking. ive made the same turn numerous times, but not today. thanks sugar land/fort bend county for building new medians

3 doctor visits today and this is my thumb in its current condition; broken metacarpal bone. cant set it 100% straight w/o pins.
IMAG0179

couldve been worse but still sucks .

dainese textile armored jacket (i googled and i think the model is g portland) has a few scuffs around the forearms. didnt bother taking pics. i think if i keep riding i'll reuse it.

shoei rf1000 scuffed on the front. i'll retire this one. figure it saved me a few hundred in fixing a messed up face. i didnt notice any other new scuffs or scrapes.

first gear pants (unknown model). knee padding worked good enough on the left side (about a 2" hole/tear thru the first layer), but the zipper on the side failed catastrophically. left side zipper busted and came undone pretty much along the full length. only the weather liner was left. if i ride again, i'll get pants that are one piece and dont zip up on the side.

dunno how the ninja 250 is. it left a small puddle of oil where it stopped and the shifter is behind the foot peg instead of in front if that makes sense.

Atleast you got your first, and hopefully only fall out of the way with minor injuries. You had to know it was gonna happen eventually
