Growing a will actually help with the BP in some cases. Some people get crossed up because keeping their head and torse more upright keeps the "oh I'm about to die" alarm at bay. When you get more comfortable, you can lean that torso over without this happening.

Keep in mind bike ergos have something to do with it, too. Usually bikes with higher-up bars and lower pegs makes a new rider keep their head higher because the feeling of having their head at hand level while their feet are lower is an un-natural feeling. Bikes with lower clip-ons and more "lay down" riding position (think super-sport Vs that Ninja) tend to allow the rider to get their head lower without that odd feeling.
