im going to be paying my friend some in labor, but not counting that the total iiiis lets see
bike $600
sv shock, my old one, in his garage- free
gs750 tank i think was $60
drz400sm carb and jet kit $60 thanks byrdman
harley headlight i think was $30
hmmmm.... i think those are the only parts that we have bought for it so far.
$750? that seems low. i had it figured out the other day to be around 1200. i might have been using guessed retail prices, and not the deals we have gotten so far.
we settled on a tail design yesterday and he's got the templates all printed out. quality job. he needs to get a shop.
th tailidea10a
i anticipate the whole thing will be less than 1500

he wants me to get him a dr350 as payment. hes going to swap the 350 into my frame and have the 250 for his dirtbike.
 yeah

Looking cool man!

You may want to find a way to add a rear fender, maybe one with a quick release? For a commuter, you're probably gonna like having some sort of fender on there to keep the road off of you@

Good luck and please keep us updated

yeah, i know this to be true. spring showers arent the best thing to ride through or after, even. i might put a little something between the frame tubes on the bottom, in the triangle.

stang man, do you know of any good quick release fenders? i have actually never heard of this. do they clamp on or something?

i do not plan on keeping the ugly blue gaiters. also in the plans are a couple of 50 cal ammo case panniers. if anyone has a couple that they would like to contribute to a very unique build, let me know. the build is kind of at a standstill at this point, i think. i might just be waiting for my tax return to finish it up.

Panniers on a cafe? Have you thought that out?

they will be removable. after we get his and my bikes done we are going on a ride for several days, camping out along the way. need storage for gear and clothes.
the bike isnt turning out to be strictly cafe, or anything like i had originally thought out, but i really like where its going.
it will be a simplistic all arounder with a vintage style.

i just did my taxes yesterday and i'm getting back a shitload of money. it's really tempting to abandon this and get another sv650, but .... eh, this is pretty cool. it's going to get a bit better treatment now. i was expecting to get around 5k, but im getting 7k.

Coming right along! Do you plan on taking it offroad with the rear suspesion set up that way? If so looks like it will rub the rear tire going over anything bumpy.

The DR350 motor would be fun in that bike! Good luck finishing the build.
