Never listen to them if they say 80 or 90%, if you see 10 or 20%, prepare for a hurricane.

www.weather.com has an hour-by-hour forcast. Usually if they say 30% for the whole day then you're gonna get wet.

I rode today anyway.

Teach y'all a lesson about listening to the weatherman. If you live in TX, you have better chance of predicting it yourself then relying on someone else.

Yeah i made that mistake yesterday too...

Hey does anyone have any pointers on braking in the rain. Should it be the same as when its dry? I made it home ok but it didnt feel right when i used both brakes. The back felt like it was sliding but i really couldnt tell. I have stainless braid brake lines all the way around so when i aplly the brakes it stops...I just drove slow as on I-45 to avaiod braking at a high speed...

Thats a good question. Wet weather riding can be tricky if your tires are not up to the task.
I still use 90% front in the rain and as i slow down to stop I apply some back brake into it as well. What about anyone else?

Even 98% to the front in the wet. I rarely ever use the back brake if at all.

I use 90% or 100% front brakes with downshifting beforehand. I haven't had any issues downshifting in the wet but I believe someone here awhile back went down when they did the same thing. (ATE Super Blue, EBC HH pads, stock rotors, Metzler Z6's)

My main issue besides idiots in cars are those little cat turds that they put in between lanes. In the dry they are annoying, in the wet they are downright dangerous! Especially when four or five are lined up in a row, haven't experienced that much headshake EVER! (need some lawyers to file a class action lawsuit to get them removed) Other than that, being wet, and a PoPo riding my tail in the HOV lane running my plate, no problems. BTW: having a polished bike SUCKS when it rains!
