There is no correlation between sympathy for a company and lack of sympathy for a customer.

The company is not liable for the stupidity of one of its customers. Simple as that. That does not make me sympathetic to the companies plight. It just means I can correctly assess the fault in this situation and hold the proper party accountable.

The company is expected to save itself money. Shocker, I know, but companies are about profit. Nobody is forced to purchase their products. Unless the product was falsely advertised, which it wasn't, then there is no problem.

You are trying far too hard. You're absolutely right, but I think there are some OWS types here that can't follow.

Companies are evil. Profits are bad. Oh! - I got hurt being a dumbass - I'm gonna sue and get PAID! Somebody has to be accountable for this, and it's certainly not going to be ME! - and the jury just said "Yeah, it IS going to be you..."

I'm thinking he should sue the bandana manufacturer for failing to meet DOT and SNELL standards.

The part that really erks me is that if she would have taken the $900K. It says that after the lawyers and expert witnesses got paid, she would have been left with nothing. So did the lawyers and expert witnesses still get paid now that they have lost? Don't they always win in the end no matter who wins in court?

(Its kinda tough to keep a straight face when you're asking a customer who swears he has a Honda Camry or Toyota Accord which one it is, only to discover its really a VW Jetta...)

The average HD bagger owner sadly puts less than 5K miles per year on the bike. Many of them wouldn't know the engine size without looking on the air cleaner...
Good example, except for the fact that it involves a woman and knowing how to operate a car.

Medical is a big chunk of change

He said his client turned down a pretrial settlement offer of $900,000, an amount that would have left her with next to nothing after a medical lien, experts' costs and his own fees were deducted.

It says she would be left with next to nothing after legal expenses and medical liens, which is still more than she deserved from HD.
