That video's very bias. You can see him hammering the brakes on the non abs. I agree that in some situations that abs may help, but there's just some scenarios during riding/driving where it just doesn't help enough. It's gonna end up in a wreck, be a small one or a bad one. That would be the true difference in abs is to lower the extremes of wrecks and not rule them out altogether. Of all the things they have in cars now, peop.le still wreck due to unawareness and just plain old dumbassism

Even moreso w/ bikes. the vid is an IIHS, these are the same guys who got manuf. to start looking at offset crashes vs against a brick wall. so it's a very valid test.

if you don't think riders grab a handful of ft brake at the sign of any emergancy, you're giving ALOT of credit to rider.

put the same bike/rider/speed/wetness i guarantee a rider will stop shorter w/ ABS

there's also a vid out there showing a rider swerving while on the brakes on an ABS bike.......guess what'll happen if you do that w/ a conventional bike? think back to MSF class.

Honda ABS kicks . Grab the brakes with as much force as you can muster and all the bike does is stop, period.

They offered her $900K as a pre-trial offer. Now she gets nada. I'm glad she didn't take it. Now she's helped establish legal precedent.

No mention in any article whether she was wearing a helmet. By that omission they're telling us she didn't. Otherwise there would be a helmet mfr getting sued too.

The swiftness of the jury deliberations has restored a little of my confidence in the people of Cali.

Blah blah blah
I agree with The Asian
The guy might be ignorant, but why the HD (and others to that matter I don't know off) putting this icon on the panel if bike doesn't have abs? These saving 50c on $20k hardly rideable bike? I am sad that they were not financially hurt for doing this. This is an example on how big companies do not give a about end user and his safety in order to make more mullahs, even if it's just peanuts. This hurts everybody in the society.

pretty common practice among bikes and cars. $.50 (and i bet it cost more then $.50c) on 20,000 bikes = $10k in savings. let alone the number of cars and other makse that do this = millions of $. again trying to blame to corp at the expense of personnal responsibility. at least the courts in CA had more sense then you.

lol, you can't be serious? Are you confused about when your brights are on too? I mean, even if the light's not on, the icon is still there. And how the is this an example of a corporation not giving a about user safety? It's a disabled light, not a bike that falls apart when you get on the highway.

This is bullshit argument BTW
If that accord would have had a badge on the back saying V6 on the shop floor, I'd assume it does have V6 engine. Am I now ignorant? Thankfully Honda do not use this bullshit argument saying: we putting V6 badge on all cars, to make sure that the one which actually has V6 engine also has a badge ...
