Car shipping?

Anyone ever done it? Seems like a shady business all around from what I have been reading. Horseless carriage came up with a bunch of great reviews around 2008, but everything recently has been absolute .

Looking to go from Chicago Illinois to Houston Texas...preferably without bodywork damage.

I cannot really fly there and drive it back, because it'll likely snow on me and I don't think that's the best idea considering the car and the tires on it.

Did a search here and on houston imports with no return.

Maybe contact Carmax and ask if they use a private company to ship their vehicles....

I ship cars but waiting to get my new truck right now. I've never had any damage to a car that I delivered. $700 is kinda high to go to Chicago, I run flordia alot and I brought a 2012 mercedes suv from fort myers to Baytown for $550 to give you a idea. It will prolly be mid January before my truck will be ready.

I'd be alright waiting until mid January, but I know he wont. He's going to winterize the car by Christmas.

It shouldn't be too much since chicago and Houston are fairly large hubs, and it is really a straight shot on 55/57.

I am fine for 500-700 no problem, just want it done without having to sit in storage for a few weeks while they get a truck full.

I am thinking of calling the Honda dealership to see if they would have a reference to use. Carmax might be a good idea too, since they ship their vehicles around a lot too.

Monday will be a fun day of calling and quoting.

We shipped my son's truck to California last month for $1000. We had over 30 quotes and the best was $850 but had a shady history. Cant remember their name. Anyway, 7Star Transport is who we ended up using. Good experience. If you register at Uship you will get quotes daily from a lot of transporters.
