It can be fixed but they gotta know what they are doing. Depends on what it is whether or not the expense would be worth it.
It might be helpful to mention what the item is.

there are a number of places that advertise carbon fibre bicycle frame repair - if they can fix that they can probably fix what you need repaired.

Is it cosmetic or structural? Structuraly it can be repaired but won't look pretty....
Cosmeticly, put a sticker over it...

Well, it is a tank from fleabay that got to me in pretty bad shape. The seller could have done a better job of packaging the thing, but The post office really did a number on it, & figured I could see about salvaging it if all else fails. Not looking for too pretty as it'll be painted over anyway. Seller's agreed to replace it or return the $$$.
