Price isn't an issue. What if I changed it weekly? Would you find that excessive? The manufacturer did not just come up with some arbitrary . They are going to protect their with the mileage recommendations. If you feel the need to do it more often for your own sense of security then by all means go for it. Just don't act like we are neglecting our . FWIW I change the bike oil more frequently than recommended. The oil in the bike doesn't see 2k miles. In my truck I let the oil life monitor tell me when.

My owners manual says to change it by mileage. So I drive in reverse as often as possible to keep the mileage down.

I wonder how many oil change fanatics mix tap water with their coolant.

In any vehicle? Do you drain it as soon as you purchase a new vehicle?

SO IN MY 2011 GMC I JUST CHANGED THE OIL FOR THE 1ST TIME GOING OFF OIL INDICATOR SAID I HADE 30% LEFT AT 5100 MILES
I USED THE GM DEXOS 1 OIL
I NOW HAVE ABOUT 8100 MILES
THATS RIGHT AT 3K MILE AND THE OIL LIFE SAYS 74% OIL LIFE LEFT

SHOULD I TRUST THIS ?????

YES IT IN ALL CAPS

blake your info says you have 10+ years experience, if so, why is this conversation happening...
and no, I do not use tap water...
in fact I really do not do any of this anymore...
Tommie Vaughn takes care of my three trucks...
and from now on Motorcycles Unlimited will be doing the oil changes on my bikes...

I can change my own oil, and I have a family mechanic... nothing beats free labor.

If it's a Suzuki.. you never need to change the oil actually.. Isn't that what all Gsxr riders do?
