I've noticed that on regular rider-down threads, if he wasn't wearing this or that for gear or he was cutting in and out, there are a lot of "get's-what-he-deserves" kind of comments, but because this one is a cop I sense some of you want to cut loose on the guy, but hold back.

If this was a regular guy being an we'd call him and . Kinda sounds like this is an and "possibly" one of the worst kuz he "might" have been DWI AND a cop. So are we trying to be nice because he's Mr. Man and stay on the good side of the cops even though the results are - This is what happens to riders like you.....??
Sound like some of you wanna unleash, but are holding back and even buttering up - ALWAYS FTP cops... It's just a question. I don't want any human on the right side of the law injured. I do hope he is ok because I do think about his family and how they feel. It's NEVER a good thing for wife/kids to see Daddy all busted up.
I hope he has his own bike and is able to get back on it.

Hey guys joking or not please do not use "FTP" around here. Especially in a rider down thread.

Hope he makes a quick recovery. Hate to hear an officer is in the hospital

The officer was doing his job. they do block traffic when escorting as it is part of their gig.

While I don't like the part where I get pulled over and get a ticket for MY bad choice I still respect what they do and why they are here. There is no proof he was drinking and by the sounds of it might not ever be proof. It's at this point hear say. How do you not see an officer with bright lights on in an intersection? you shouldn't be speeding or even hitting the speed limit at an intersection imho. I was always told to slow it down some and look around, not text or talk on the phone, eat etc etc. Not trying to start anything but am having a hard time with this new thing on Motohouston where everything is FTP this and FTP that. It hasn't always been like that and is not welcome here. everyone is welcome to an opinion, it's just upsetting to see that a man is down and people can't put aside his career choice and instead throw out "ftp" . wish the man well and move on. I remember speaking to an officer in Galveston who said they were not allowed to wear full on gear. It's part of the dress code I'm sure but didn't get into much of a discussion because we were ran off by the harley crowd at mardi gras while trying to join in some parade we didn't fill out paper work for (others hadn't either but we were targeted) typical. that's another story but anyways what i'm saying is i dont think they can just go pick up a full leather suit and have on the best racing boots out there

If he was properly doing his job and doing it safely sorry. If he was one of the many that thinks his badge gives him the right to do anything he wants then my comment stands. Well the get better and learn something stands either way.

Hope he's OK and heals up soon. People don't see cop lights just like hey don't see trains and other extremely large . Some cops are cool. Most are dicks who think their don't stink and their badge gives them the OK to do whatever. Friendswood cops are the worst. Just saying. If we rode like motorcycle cops we'd all be in jail.

The funny thing is that you have motor officers on here that never post up. It would be pointless.

I didn't go to the crash scene, but I helped finish the funeral procession he was escorting. I believe the sgt that went down was the lead bike. So that pretty much trapped the whole funeral procession at the crash scene.

From what I understand he had traffic completely stopped at the intersection but there were lanes that were open. All it takes is one driver to see a green light and they will take the first available open lane not knowing an officer is in the intersection holding traffic.

Have no idea about his condition other than whats being reported in the media.

If its any better I also say F 98% of houston drivers lol. Its the same as anything though. A few bad seeds screw it up for everything.
