i'd say the Sidi, they are more comfy to me than the A*'s

they also aren't so big, the calf of the A* is huge..

From personal experience as well as seeing some of my customers and racers; Sidis followed by the SMX.
Although for racing use I'd go with the Vertigo Corsa, it has much better ankle support.
Some of the SMX's are on closeout right now though if price is a concern.

Patrick..the Vertigo Corsa are out of my price range :confused1

Do you think there is a difference with the normal Vertigos and the Vertigo Air model as far as protection go? Also how much of an air flow difference might there be?

The difference is significant in terms of air flow, protection is the same.

I have the sidi's as well and like them. I'd say that they run a lil small. Something to consider if you have a big foot like me. They all look like good boots. Try them on and see what you like best. The sidis and alpinestars can be had locally, I doubt if anyone will have the oxtars to try on.

Sidi. and I'm not a fan of white boots. But that would be up to you.
Actually, ALL of the choices are good. Its personal preferance time for you.
