It has been proven the slower you drive the more chance of accidents...Lived in Germany for 10.5 years and only accident I was in when I was stopped in a STAU (traffic jam) and the idiot driver rear ended me cause he wasn't playing attetion.....most accidents that happen in Europe are weather or road condition related.....

Problem with drivers here....they don't know how to control the car's in the various situations they are put in......they look at the car directly in front of them instead of staggering yourself to see ahead of it....STAY IN THE F'N FAST LANE DOING THE EXACT SPEED LIMIT...ooooohhh I hate that ish....I just moved from DC where 55-60 is the posted SL...so you know I'm loving thr 70-75....
Don't know about China but if you were in Thailand you would have to double check the Adams apple or Copt a feel under the dress...cause what you think is a girl may just be a boy......can you say Crying Game overload????

You can make a living as an english teacher, but live as a king is a stretch lol most teachers get paid between 3000 to 4000 usd per month, even if you were able to save 50% of your salary, in a year or two, you still wont be able to buy a descent car (most cars cost double to triple compared to the US)

I went to China a couple times, in the beginning it was like going back in time, and dirty/nasty. I guess I got used to it after a few days, but the food was awesome and actually tasted healthy too, girls are 漂亮 and looking for a ticket to America, the first time was in '96 Shanghai, I was surprised the police had no guns. Like you say traffic was wild, the horns of the cabs were continuous, people everywhere and seemed like everyone would just "pee" everywhere and anytime

When I went to Beijing/Tianjin I was more prepared for the trip and was much easier to "get around", went to"The Quanjude Restaurant" had some duck and "Goubuli Baozi", and had some of their famous dumplings. Like you say getting a job teaching English is pretty easy, they also have places you can go for "conversation" and get paid for just having a conversation and teaching the "colloquialisms".

anyway it was a great experience both times,

Glad you're having a great time too!

4:37 am CST
Woke up and can't sleep. Fireworks from a grand opening woke me. They open business at any time of the day and set off a ton of fireworks. I was down town shopping yesterday and about 2:00 and right on the main drag all of a sudden about 5 minutes of major fireworks went off. I was right across the street. Parking is on the sidewalk so they just block off about 50 meters [50+ yrd]. It's the big arial stuff like we have at our 7/4 celebrations. The just shoot them right up along side the buildings. NUTS.

I wanted a couple shirts and pants and I was SWARMED by about a dozen beautiful little cuties that at each shop. I'm in the changing room ane they keep opening it up and handing me stuff. They keep checking me out because I'm so dang tall. [I'm 6'2"]

I gotta tell you this though. This is a samll town, 7 million. It's not Beijing or HongKong. So far everyone I have talked to about bikes knows Suzuki, Honda, BMW, Yamaha- but they seriously do NOT know what a Harley is.

They ask me where I work and when I tell them I work for NASA they have no clue what it is. I've even drawn pictures of rockets with the NASA meatball - no idea. BUT-if I say Columbia, they reply "WEI WEI, Challenger." EVERYONE- EVERYONE knows Yao Ming though.

If I want to seem them laugh like crazy all I have to do is say Obama.

Well, I made a pretty good splash with the teachers at the school I've been teaching at and it got up to the Hengyang school board and I've been Shanghai'd into speaking at the elementary schools. I think I'll tell the little kiddies that I think all their moms are totally hot and I need to meet them all for a "special conference" he he he....I'll tell the translator to just make up some in Chinese.

I have a load of pix. The cable to my camera is a little unique but I think I"ll buy an adapter to plug the chip into a USB. I'm sorry about that guys. Tonight at 10 I'm going to another Karoake bar. Just me and three girls. I am SO GLAD I'M NOT A SUICIDE BOMBER. Dood - 70 virgins? That's ALL YOU GET? Seriously??Yeah, I think I'll take this any day........... go blow yerself up and leave all these darlings for me..... lol

Sorry for being so lengthy. Will do my best to get pix in 24hrs. btw- those are Chinese hours... not English...
