vehicle profiling

Does it seems that bikes, sportbikes especially, get singled out for LEO attention?

Sure we're all familiar with the "loud exhaust" racket, but what about everything else? Do we get more problems on two wheels vs. four?

I've been pulled over twice on the bike for speeding (15+ over both times) - no ticket either time. I've had MUCH more trouble with cops in my car than on my bike - two tickets for 10 over (both dismissed ). So, no. I don't feel like I'm being profiled.

Was riding the other night, a cop already had a guy pulled over and was walking to his car when I came by and as soon as he heard the bike he stopped, turned around and shined his flash light at me. I wasnt speeding but to me the sound of a crotch rocket just makes certain cops want to start issuing tickets. Although I can say not all of them are like that, the last 3 times I've been pulled over I havent even gotten a ticket. I guess it just depends on the officer.

Sport bike riders have this stigma that we are wreckless, and we speed. So yes they pay attention more to sport bike riders, especially with loud exhausts and stunt wannabees. How many police officers assume you are one of these riders is a different question.

Depends on the area. On a houston freeway I would be surprised to get a ticket unless I was asking for one. On a weekend in the hillcountry or the forest I'd bet the cops look at sportbikes a little harder. Likewise during a rally I'm sure cruisers get the hairy eyeball.

Cops are just doing their job. If you're working and there is a pattern you can exploit to make your job easier/perform more efficiently, you'll take it.

I got pulled over speeding once in the past year. I was going over 100 and he laughed and gave me a speeding ticket for 74 in a 65. He thought I was crazy for going that speed on such a small bike.

Sometimes you gotta take life with a grain of salt.

I've been pulled over for no good reason more often on my truck than on my bike, it was just a couple of bad years where it happend all the time; now I can't even remember when I got my last ticket or when I was last pulled over.

and ohh yeah, I have been pulled over on my bike just cuz the officer wanted to find out where I got my blinkers and plate holder, I gotta say at first I was anoyed, but then it just cracked me up, cuz I would probably do the same... yes I know I'm an

BIKE no
CAR yes

Ricers gotta pay to play lol

I've been pulled over about 4-5 times now on bike and received only 2 tickets, one of which I completely agreed that I was in the wrong. Most of the "profiling" ends when they see I am in my mid-30s and Indian/Muslim.

when i rode my sport bike on the street i was constantly speeding, riding like a fool and having a blast. it cost me a pretty dime too, Every time I was pulled over I deserved it and didn't feel like it was profiling.

When I got in an accident and it was the other persons fault, I got the ticket, that's when I felt like if it was a cruiser involved the other party would have been at fault and they would have had a ticket instead of me having to fight for two plus weeks to prove it wasnt' me who did wrong to the insurance company... ticket was dismissed as well

Now that I'm on a cruiser I seldom get popped and that's only because it is a and doesn't go fast enough to get in trouble... well let me put it this way if i do go much over the speed limit parts start falling off and or it stops running right

I agree. My car is still lowered and kitted out with ricer wheels from back in the day. I have gotten more BS tickets that I care to recall.
