I am lookin at getting this camera. http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...=338536&ref=cj

Now i dont really know much about cameras and am wondering if anyone here has any experience with them and could give me a little advice. Or maybe theres something else you would recommend around the 300 price range? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Well, I was gonna write up a whole buncha stuff about questions to ask yourself about the type of pics are planning to take etc, but the last time I did that, the just went with the 'cooler' camera. :laughing6

In my eyes, you cant go wrong with Sony, for a point and shoot.

also check out buying a used f717... you can get them on Ebay cheap.

I ended up going with the Canon PowerShot S3 IS http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons3is/ after trying to decide between that and the Sony DSC-H2 http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonyh2/ . What really did it for me is the video mode, which after reading several reviews, seems to be better on the Canon than the Sony and I really cant tell the difference between the sample pics. They both look great.
