I have my wife try to wrap her arms around my belly, problem is I'm like 2 1/2 times her size. I want her to hold on as close as possible so she's not floppin around back there

My wife always holds on around my waist unless we are stopping, then she puts one hand on the tank to keep from running into my back while braking.
She has never had any issues holding on this way so I guess it works.
Tip though, make sure she wears gloves or takes her rings off or you will have nice little scrathes all over the your tank.

It depends on who is riding B+#@!. If it is someone that you love then it is okay to do either way. If it is someone you are trying to get then tell him/her to hold on to you, tight. If it is someone you don't care much then tell him or her to hang on to the tank and not to touch you in any way.:laughing6

Tell her to "act like luggage". If she tries to lean with you, she could lean more or less than you want her to. If she sits still, you and you alone control the lean angle.

For take-offs, have her hold your waist. You shouldn't be taking off so quickly that she feels like she'll be tossed off. For hard braking, she should hold the grab rails. The last thing you want is for her to be smashed up against you.

Oh - and it helps if she relaxes and lets the bike what it will. To help, have her look over your shoulder in the direction you're turning. If she does, the leaning of the bike won't scare her like it will if she isn't looking at the roadway. Plus, this helps her learn to look alllll the way through the turns for when she gets her own bike!

My girl hangs on to my belt loops, if not my belt. But never tell her to hold on to your shoulders!

If you had a more comfy 2-up bike, there wouldn't be any holding on! Just sit still.

my gf won't ride with me :-(
but with my stomp grip on the tank I'm pretty sure I'd tell her just to wrap her arms around me!
its a nut saver for sure.

My girl don't ride and I kinda like it that way!!! I ride my style and I only worry about me. Riding alone is 10 x's better than riding 2-up unless giving rides is your only means of getting some. J/k!!!! :laughing6 :laughing6 :laughing6 For real though, I wish my girl would ride once in a while just so she knew kinda what it feels like.
