Theres a difference in the art of making fun of "flawed" logic, aka trolling and plain ole attacking...fyi.

Yes I've only been riding a few months

True but one could get by with just a mesh in houston. My first year on the moto I had just a J Rocket mesh. It came with a plastic liner. I would put three sweat shirts inside and could ride in the 30's.

Now, I use leather, preforated for summer, not preforated for winter.

Yes we do and we should. Wreckless behavior makes all riders look bad.

I ride a harley road king as well as my honda cbr and my dirt bikes...
I wear gear that is suited for the most likely type of crash I am going to have for the type of riding I am doing at the time...what you wear is your business...
if you are female and going to ride naked, I want to watch...and my wife has given permission...

I was going to thanksgiving, seen a guy on what looked like a KLR with his girl friend on the back.

Either he was trying to impress her by riding like a fool, or was trying to get rid of her cause she had no gear. They guy was having trouble passing my wife in her minivan. I told her to slow down and just let the guy go around as he was passing on the right or trying to merge onto the beltway and that merge lane was ending.

looked like a green KLR 650

I rode my FIL's Goldwing home from El Campo Sat morning trying to beat the rain....helmet and gloves....I did feel a bit naked, but I should've worn a jacket since the temp dropped 10 degrees 5 minutes after I left the driveway.

but what does he wear?

i assume he's a weathered rider, so why would he listen to a young whipper snapper like you?

btw, i started wearing knee pads, after reading about them on this site. old dags can learn new tricks, if they want to learn.

But when it comes to hd riders you people nitpick everything they do. How about leave them be. I assure you we don't have debates on the stupid crotch rocket riders do.
My family (Dad MD and mom an ER RN) always wore seat-belts even before it was required. If you didn't put them on then you would have to get out and walk. So, meh.

As for having debates on stupid crotch rocket (and it does get stupid; trust me), have you been to a harley forum recently? 'Cause I beg to differ with your bolded conjecture.

Nope. I don't follow their forums. They're pretty boring imo. I was referring to conversing with them in person.

But when your not rolling in money it works. Why laugh at the guys who can't afford a jacket for every season. That may just send them into the F it I will wear nothing mind set.

I was one of those guys, I made what I had work. Don't be so high and mighty.

whatever floats your boat, but your hindering your movement w/ that much gear on which also makes riding more dangerous.......

do what you gotta do, just cuz you can't "afford" proper gear doesn't make it "right"

i just got heated gear after 10yrs.......but i also never wore a summer jacket w/ 3-4 layers during the winter either.

Actually was hoping for it. I've had less than 20 customers since 11. This thread has been the only thing to keep me out of complete and sheer boredom. Had hoped for good troll, but the closest I've seen was the person linking me to a camel rider.

AST 2's are not summer jackets and are "proper" gear. I don't need heated gear as I was too warm as it was. With one liner I am in no way hindered in my range of motion. The liner is sold with the jacket. So, what the heck are you talking about?

Oh, and back on topic. I ride a cruiser with more gear than most sport bike riders. So thbthbthbthb...
