so making a bad decision based on prior bad decision is a good idea, lol

FYI, summer (ie vented) jackets are for summer riding.

thats like saying you refuse to turn the stove on because it heats up your house in the summer so you just eat raw food instead.

how is it a bad decision. Theres no way I'll go at a speed high enough to cool myself down during the summer. I'd feel safer taking that extra small risk to feel cooled off and with a sound mind.
And where do you get off attacking my decision making. You don't know me, therefore you have no right to judge anything I do or say.

Oh, what a fun topic to argue....I mean discuss. The fact is that there are way too many variables not considered for that chart to be much use. Blunt trauma kills...period, end of story. The larger the speed difference between the moving and stationary object, the faster the death. Take Marco Simoncelli...fully geared, including a spine protector, but was hit in the back by a bike going in excess of 100mph. Go ahead and factor in that since he was moving too, there was only a 40-50mph difference in speed, maybe less. Guess what...he was dead on impact. It's not always head trauma that causes death. Ever hear of internal bleeding?

I would think that as much effort as was put into that chart to gather the data they could have narrowed the results some. Why is it that they only break down the speeds up to 40mph, and after that, it's all grouped together. 40mph still covers residential streets with intersections, which is where a majority of wrecks happen, anyway. I would like to see the speeds broken down up to 100mph, and then group everything above 100 together.

You people need to get off yalls high horse a bit and stop attacking people on their personal choice. When it was a matter of personal choice for a passenger in a cage to wear a seat belt or not...did you people attack them when they chose not to wear one? My guess is no. you left them be. But when it comes to hd riders you people nitpick everything they do. How about leave them be. I assure you we don't have debates on the stupid crotch rocket riders do.

BS, lame excuses. once you get moving the jackets start flowing air.

who's attacking, i'm making fun of your flawed logic.

btw, have you really only been riding a few months? just curious.

Welcome to the internet. There's pie over there in the corner.

I loudly defend your right to wear gear as you see fit. Doesn't mean I can't call you an idiot at the same time.

Given the melee, it would be impossible to say that it didn't. I remember reading something that said he died from back and chest trauma. In other words...thoracic trauma and internal bleeding.

Mesh is very cool in the summer, dump a gallon of water on yourself/in your jacket for extra evaporative cooling. It works great.

I hear you on the heat stroke. I had one this summer.. Second one ever. I was freaking SICK and did not get cooled down for several hours and even then my body wanted to stay above 100 for some strange reason. Still, I suit up with leather even in the summer.

Preforating the leather helps

No problem. I can't hear you over all that V-twin power rattling your little swimmers into foam anyway.
