Nothing great down there. Maybe take 146 down to Galveston and back. I liked to take the ferry across to Bolivar and come back via I-10 but that probably won't fit your schedule.

Maybe take 2004 out to Lake Jackson, turn around and come back?

A fun little road with back to back 90 is park rd. It goes from Laporte to Morgan Point. Just watch your speed because of cops and because u will go from right to left very quick

I live in Lake Jackson, 2004 kind of blows. But for that kind of time.....
This is the route I would take: FM2004 to CR-227 to FM523 to SH35
2.5 hours by car (but faster by bike )

This is 4 hours... but if I was stuck in Clear Lake, it's the route I would do.

Although I would probably do it reversed from what is written there.

Hope those maps come out...
