Place to take my 11 yr old Son..

Hes learning on a z50r and hes ecstatic that he can ride one by him self.

Where can I take him to learn in a safe enviroment instead of fields by our house Maybe a place I can ride my bike with him too?

Good question. I've been teaching my GF to ride her CRF in the fields by the house, but she needs a bigger area lol.

mahan park is a good option, but might need a hazmat suit with all the syringes laying around.. lol My dad used to take me back there all the time to play on the playgrounds.

Im sure riding a dirtbike back there might cause the police to show up?

I was going to suggest Ultimate MX. If you have a dirt bike you can ride with him too. There is plenty of space for him to learn.

It's been more than 15 years since I was there but one of the last times I was "we" set the bayou on fire with 5 gallons of 93 octane and it went up like the Hindenberg. No cops came.

Creekside edge offroad in splendora is a good place. Lots of open dirt areas, some sand, trails and a track that's pretty tame. Always a few kids on 50s cruising around.

Chris,
I know there are a few trainers that could get him more knowledge on the dirt, safety etc... Im not sure of the fees but i can find out if you like. I have a nephew that racezs dirt and has a trainer 3 days a week. It has helped him allot.

Cool. I just want him to get more skilled with the bike and get more comfortable with em. Id also at some point in time get him on one of our 80's and work a clutch.

Ill talk to hiim today. I raced for almost 17 years and it is all about seat time. I would look into a bigger bike for an 11 yo boy. You know bikes bro, an 80 would be cool. Getting him on a track with organized practice and coaching him will help him greatly. I used to train my son and would be on the track working burms for hours, then whoops for hours, then jumps... It just takes time on the dirt bro. I miss it for sure. Ill pm you info this afternoon.
