They should reinvent the SV the way it should have been...

Simple solution, put a decent suspension on it front/rear and upgrade the brakes ever so slightly and ... viola! Gazillions of SVs sold in minutes!

Manufacturers don't really make gobs of profit on bikes. They make it on accessories, gear and the like. They generally clear about 2% to 5% actual profit on bikes themselves after all the bills are paid. Where a shirt would net them about 25% or more profit per sale. It doesn't seem that way since you pay $12K for a bike yet only $30 for a shirt but when you factor in volume it makes sense. Bautista is a great talent but you don't see his gear flying off the shelves where Rossi, Stoner and the like have people sporting their kit everywhere. It's because they win races. Suzuki is just saving money so they can invest in developing new machinery to put them back into contention.

Exactly, Chuckster. Let them take a year sabbatical and come back with something strong.

You can't really say, "Suzuki sucks" when they've won 10 of the last 13 seasons in AMA superbike. They've gotta be doing something right in the street bike segment, heh?

Ducati's won TWICE in AMA since 1976. And while they dominated FIM superbike the displacement restrictions for the inlines were obviously an unfair detriment.

Yep, if they re-released the SV with inverted forks and better rear suspension... I would go buy a brand new one on launch day... Hands down.
