I'll stand behind Tim's work as well, he's done a set of rims for me and a frame as well (which included some custom welding and such). good prices, even better results.

With what im reading, I would have to turn the work down Tim. I would pay a little more for quality work. Just me though.

I don't think I've ever heard a bad report about his work or his prices.

I dont know where my pricing stands in the market, I have never called around, I do know for what I do and quality produced compared to the "others" and how much I put into each and every piece, I do know what I'd like to get for doing that, whatever "that" may be :-)

Ok Ok I will play...

So as far as I can see.. we are talking about Powdercoating... this man didn't as for Powdercoating. Read the title he wants POWERECOATERS! He is too slow so he wants someone to coat his bike in POWERE! whatever that is.

So can't we all just get along?

Sweet I know where to go to get my Dirtbike rims powder coated now. I've been wondering about this.

Can you alternate the color of the spokes? Like white, red, black? And what prep work do I need to do? Let me know ScooterTrash.

prep work is to remove the tires and bearings.
to do spokes diff color w/o tear down would be a real pain with taping and masking time etc etc, cost more than the bike in time :-) if you remove the spokes, then we could do that no problem, all the spokes would be 25-30 each rim. You could powder a certain number whatever color and then you re-assemble hub and rim with spokes in pattern.
To do the whole rim at one time would be 90 basic color for spoked rims, as I have to media blast and prep each and every spoke and all sides of the afore mentioned spokes, so prepping wire rims takes longer than an average mag rim.

The OP said he just sold a 12,000ft powdercoating shop but he never said what HE would have charged for the work he wanted done.
My guess is, his charge would not have been substanially lower. Maybe with the automation and volume he mentioned, he could have done it a little cheaper but then you have to assume there would be a loss of hands-on attention to detail and quality as well.

I think he was a little offbase to step into a community and accuse someone of " rape".
But then what would you expect? Chicagoans are not known for their tact.

PowerE coating must be something digital. Maybe he wants 1's and 0's on his rims. On another note he should have had the work done in his 12000 sq ft shop. before moving to Texas.

Just curious scoot How much would you charge to coat a bicycle frame that is already blasted and prepped for you?

also basic harley frame I get 225 for stripping and doing basic single color, average metric frame in the 175 range. I've have done complete bikes, 09 street glide, was in the range of 1,800 for everything, thats a tad higher than 500 for complete bike, , I do bicycle frames and forks single color for bike barn for 225, and thats a bicycle frame. I'm thinking the OP needs to really understand what is involved with powdercoating, its not some dude with a spray can and 10 minutes later its done.
