Bar end mirror (mirrors)....

I've only met one dude that has bar end mirrors and, I have been recently considering that as an alternative to my fairing mirrors. I love the look of a bike without mirrors sticking out like insect antennae, with smooth fairing stay plates. Is the vibration in the bars enough to not see detail behind you? My left side (factory) mirror is starting to get a little loose from 10 years of riding but, I'm not planing on replacing with stock parts. Just want to see if you bar end mirror guys ever wish you had less vibration or trouble with elbow clearance. Please discuss options

I've used them for years on everything from my motards to my Bandit.
What I've learned is to buy good quality mirrors.
I've had excellent results with the CRG mirrors.

Make sure they're securely mounted, and keep the bar weights if possible which will reduce / eliminate vibration.
On some bikes like the Honda the internal bar weights make it easy to keep them. On others I'll usually machine the adapter to work with the external weights which is what I wound up doing on my Bandit.

The only downside is the rearward view is typically not quite as good as larger mirrors, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

I've got the Bandit up at the shop right now if you'd like to see how it's set up.

bar ends are great. you no longer see your shoulders. you get a huge view of everything behind you.
patrick sure is right about getting quality... i have gotten some cheap bar end mirrors and it was a complete waste of money. crg is the way to go.

I've got them on my current ride. They're kind of a pain in the in my opinion. I don't like that I have to move my head down to view them unlike the higher mounted mirrors that I could look at by just moving my eyes.

The only way to find out is to try them. I personaly don't care for them. I find the position is too unnatural to quickly check the rear, I tend to bump them into everything and they are way more sensitive to vibration. That is just me though and
YMMV. As far as looks.... I don't look at my scootes much except from behind the bars.....

If you want a nice pair PM me, I have a nice pair that I would part with for a 18 pack of Bud Light Lime....

That's for the Arrows, which are the most expensive and imo the least good functional ones CRG makes.
They also come with external bar mounts if you have at least 10mm of space to mount them.

The internal mounts though are only RETAIL for $19.95 each = $39.90 for the set. Much lower than the $70.00 you have listed.

RETAIL on the CRG's Lane Splitters is $89.95 a mirror so $189.90.

$189.90 + 39.90 = $229.80 for the set. Much lower than prices you're posting.

You can go cheaper with the std. CRG's which are $74.95 each RETAIL.

Granted, they're still more expensive than the chinese but nowhere near what you're claiming.
Also none of that is considering MH discount.

Yep.
I'll need to machine some adapters for your 1" bars but that's no biggie.

My only complaint about mine is that it's not in my direct line of sight, so more inconvenient to check regularly. However, even with all my complaints on the Buell vibrating I've never had problems seeing clearly w/ my bar end, and overall visibility is much better than with the stock mirrors (not to mention it looks so much cleaner).

I'd love to get an adapter to put bar-ends on 1" bars, but my idea was just to cut off 1" on the ends and weld on a 1" section of 7/8" bar to mount the mirror. Odd that I've never seen bar-end mounts for 1" bars...

I had some billet bar ends on my Z1000, removed the weights. no vibration problems, like 30 bucks total at Cyclegear. Way better than any stock mirrors.

I've got the cheap kind on the EX and they work pretty well. At certain speeds they start to fold in or rotate but I kept them on the loose side to pack the bike in my garage.

Still debating on what to do with the GSXR mirrors. They stick out like antennae but its really the best/easiest spot FOR ME to see what's behind. If I were a bigger guy the situation might be different.

They're awesome - CRG's only. I don't have trouble with vibration, but that depends on your bike. If you have too much vibration even with bar-end weights, there is a solution that will kill the vibrations. Let me know, I'll fill you in.
