Does posting about stolen bike improve chance of Recovery

Just curious if people feel that posting the details of a bike being stolen improves the chances of recovery.

Part of me thinks that if you post the details and the theif might be reading as well, that they will not risk riding and instead the bike is chopped. If you say nothing, there is nothing to read and thus maybe a chance that the theif will get careless and then potential recovery?

This topic hits very close to home now, so looking for quick response.

yes and no... theirs always a chance that someone keeps a eye out and spots it... not likely but its a possibility.. pay for theft insurance and then don't even worry about it... get paid for it and go get a brand new one

i like to think it helped in the recovery of mine when it was stolen in 07. i posted about it being taken and mentioned that it had lojack on it. couple of hours later i got a call from teh pd that they had found it...broad day light, 2 pm, in the MIDDLE of a residential street on its kickstand with a tarp over it. we figure somebody knew they were gonna get caught with it.
