They are all fairly simple. We've got a Rancher ES 350 and i'm sure it could get much more simple than that unless you got the model with a automatic trans (which I wouldn't buy).

My folks have a 4X4 Arctic Cat with CVT that they've had for several years and use daily over some fairly rough terrain

to me a manual transmission is more "simple" as in less moving parts and electronic ... when did they start the electric steering? I want the biggest newest model, but without fuel injection, electric steering, electric 4x4 control... I just want everything manually operated... Also, would a solid rear axle with carrier type setup be more rigid and reliable than these independent rear suspension setups?

Looks like an 02-04 foreman "S" is right up my alley.... theyre pretty basic, manual shift 4x4, carbureted, recoil started

EPS is new within the last 2-3 years. My RZR has power steering and now having owned one with it, I wont go back. Its awesome.

Im pretty sure all of them are "electric" 4x4 control(at least anything new). Only thing ive used that had a manual transfer case was a kawi mule.

a cvt transmission is two cones and a belt it doesn't get much simpler than that

I think up until 09 the foreman 500 was carbureted... They had the ES (electric shift) and the S (standard shift) I think an 09 S model would be about as new as I can get with manual controls and carbureted...
