Title & Registration

Hey everyone! Did a lot of searching, but could not get a clear answer on everything so I figured maybe someone has a clue on what to do.

So the deal is, I just got myself a used cbr just recently from Indiana and was having some issues trying to figure out how I'm gonna get the title transferred since the bike was never registered when the seller bought it.

Being that its titled in another state, what would I have to do in order to get my bike registered and title transfered to Texas?

Any help is appreciated!

did the seller write anything on the back of the title? if he signed it and it wasnt in his name you will have to jump through hoops, if not just do it as though the person on the title is the one that sold it to you....

The seller's name is on the title and he did sign everything that was required on the title, only thing is I didn't get a bill of sale nor proof of registration.

Would that be enough?

Just bring in the signed title and I should be able to get it transfered with no problems?

First time buying so sorry for the noob questions lol.

you will need to get a safety inspection and ask for a green sheet from the inspection place or inspector for out of state title. bring that with you and the title and it should be good. Fill out and application for title, you can even download it. If you are missing anything else, they will let you know.

Is safety cert necessary on a clean out of state title? If he got his name on the title he had it registered.

Truth. Bought another bike with out of state tags and title and I'm doing this now as well.

#1- Insure the bike (you need to show this for inspection)
#2- Get it inspected and ask for "the green sheet" which is not even green. It's $1.
#3- Fill out the 130-U form which is the Application for Texas title.
#4- bring all of that , plus the bill of sale to the Tax Assessor Collector's office, along with some $$ to pay the taxes, registration, etc....
